If every place looked the same, there would be no need to go anywhere else.
On the day we moved into our Nice apartment we spent some time getting familiar with it. We had rented with photos and description, and were pleased to find that we are facing a nice street, so our three Julitte balconies gave us great light and some view of the outside world. These balconies are enough to lean out on but not large enough on which to stand.
Our building is one of the lovely older ones with many updated apartments...meaning updated electric, plumbing, fibre cable and newer bathroom fixtures and kitchen appliances. I was quite pleased to see stove, micro, oven, and cooktop (hob) and large refrigerator. Since I am accustomed to gas stove top, I knew I would have a bit of learning curve here). I found ample dishes in a drawer under the hob, some pots and pans under a second drawer, a minimal gift of salt/pepper, oil, vinegar in the cupboard and a bottle of wine in the refer....If you can make a salad and have wine, you will survive. It took several passes throughout the kitchen and dining room but I had still not found any eating nor kitchen utensils. I contacted the management who quickly responded to my email and told me where I might find the missing items. Seems in this popular stove top, they have saved cupboard space with a built- in tray above the dishes drawer, and totally hidden under the hob. The utensil drawer was only accessible once the dishes drawer was open, and invisible from the closed kitchen drawer. I think I never would have found it without directions!

A bientôt (see you soon)
